Dr. LaQuitta Simms is a child welfare professional with almost 30 years of service with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Inspired by her parents becoming foster parents, she dedicated her career to supporting children, families, and communities. Her experience spans across Continuing Services, Emergency Response, supervision, Child and Family Team coaching and development, and community engagement.  As a Community-Based Liaison, she partnered with community organizations and external stakeholders to strengthen resources and support for families. Today, Dr. Simms provides program support to the DCFS Office of Equity, helping advance efforts to embed equity throughout the Department. She holds an MSW from California State University, Long Beach, and a doctorate from Walden University.
