SESSION OVERVIEW

Handling the Intersectionality of Race, Sexual Orientation and Gender as a Professional in the Advocacy Field
Facilitated by an LGBTQ+ BIPOC woman, this transformative and empowering workshop addresses the challenges and obstacles of intersectionality faced by professionals. It provides a safe and supportive space to share and reflect on your own unique intersectionalities while navigating and advancing in your professional career. We will engage in inclusive, thought-provoking discussions and a stimulating activity designed to spark meaningful conversations in your professional circles. This workshop will cover privilege, code-switching, and micro-aggressions where participants will learn about the history, necessity, and prevalence of these topics in today’s workforce. In this short time, our goal is to equip you with the language and tools to initiate conversations that foster a more inclusive workspace and environment.
