Jazmin Erving and Ivy Welburn
Jazmin Erving and Ivy Welburn are co-founders of BECAUSE I ROCK, the first Black women-owned domestic crystal mine in the U.S. As passionate educators, mothers, and community advocates, they bring a unique mix of lived experience, cultural heritage, and STEAM-based learning to every workshop. Together, they fuse crystal science and storytelling to create inclusive learning experiences for youth and adults. Through their UnEarthed Bar workshops, school programs, and mining adventures, they empower communities to explore healing, identity, and resilience. Jazmin and Ivy are dedicated to breaking barriers in STEM, amplifying representation, and creating hands-on spaces where values-driven action begins—literally—from the ground up.

SESSION OVERVIEW

UnEarthing Identity: A Hands-On Journey into Values, Crystals, and Community Healing
Hosted by BECAUSE I ROCK, a woman owned domestic crystal mining company, this interactive session uses personally sourced stones as tools for self-discovery, justice-centered reflection, and community connection. As attendees uncover raw crystals from real US mines, they’ll learn how each stone resonates with a chakra—representing values like TRUTH (throat), EMPATHY (heart), and GROUNDING (root). These values are more than concepts—they're felt in our bodies and lived in our communities. Through guided reflection, storytelling, and dialogue, participants will leave not only with their UnEarthed Crystals and project in hand, but with clarity in heart and purpose. Whether you're an educator, healer, or advocate, this session offers a unique way to connect personal healing with collective action— where geology meets justice, and values are Unearthed.
